Sir Solomon Coilworth

The Gentleman Who Could Untangle Any Argument.

Sir Solomon Coilworth, a snake

In the Royal Courts, Sir Solomon Coilworth is trusted for precision, fairness and an extraordinary command of the law. Raised among travelling clerks, he learned that laws written in the capital could look very different in a fishing harbour or a mountain farm. His defining case concerned the Footbridge of Willowmere: tracing centuries of deeds, he proved the bridge had been built by public subscription and restored it to the villages, establishing that common contributions create common rights. He believes the law is at its noblest when ordinary creatures can understand it and powerful creatures cannot bend it.

From the register

  • His monocle allows him to examine the smallest print; his bow tie remains perfectly straight through even the longest hearing.
  • Professor Foxworth keeps the barrister’s annotated copy of the Kingdom Charter in the Grand Archive.
